The Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center aims to develop a national and international network of scientists and clinicians interested in sports injury prevention research, and organizes two annual internal seminars with international participation, where recent advances in the area are discussed.
Since May 2000, the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center has held semiannual seminars for the entire research staff. In addition to personnel from the center, 4-6 foreign and Norwegian senior researchers, experts within the field of sports medicine and injury prevention, are invited to join these seminars and to ensure a high quality evaluation of the center’s research activities.
At these seminars, PhD-students and research fellows present their projects, project ideas, or current results from parts of their (PhD) work. In this way, they get valuable experience in presenting and discussing their research in a friendly, albeit highly critical, environment.
These seminars are evaluated to be both successful and necessary to obtain high research quality, and they represent an important mile stone for specific projects as well as their project leaders.
