BMJ Group and BASEM recently announced that BJSM, with support from the International Olympic Committee, will publish four additional issues each year dedicated to “Injury Prevention and Health Protection” in elite and amateur athletes.
These special issues will be Edited by Prof. Lars Engebretsen, Head Scientific Activities, IOC and co-chair of the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center. Also Prof. Roald Bahr, dr. Grethe Myklebust and dr. Tron Krosshaug will contribute to these special editions as senior associate editors.
The first special issue is scheduled for September 2009 and is focused on Sudden Cardiac Death in Athletes, edited by Jonathan A Drezner, University of Washington, Seattle
