CV

Chris Skazalski is a physiotherapist and postgraduate researcher at Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar. He is a PhD candidate at the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center and is currently working on a project titled “Load monitoring and injury risk factors in male volleyball athletes.” As part of this, research is focused on identifying various factors that lead to common ankle, knee, and shoulder problems in volleyball.

Chris studied Kinesiology as part of his undergraduate training in the United States while at the University of Michigan (Bachelor of Science, Athletic Training, 2006). He went on to complete his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University (United States, 2009).

As a physiotherapist, Chris has broad experience working with orthopedic injuries. His clinical interests have focused on the prevention and rehabilitation of shoulder injuries in overhead athletes. Additionally, his volleyball interest extends beyond the specific research projects – as a former volleyball player he still enjoys competing on the court when the opportunity presents.
